The genesis of this project was rooted in a collaborative vision shared by the school’s leadership and Ryangi’s design consortium. Replacing standard soft-play structures, Ryangi engineered a topographical play landscape inspired by the rolling dunes of the Najd region. This is not a static playset but an interactive terrain with varying slopes, gentle hills for climbing, and hidden nooks for quiet play. The surfaces incorporate different textures—smooth, ribbed, and softly granular—to stimulate tactile perception. Integrated within are climbing grips shaped like traditional Sadu weaving patterns, turning physical activity into a subconscious cultural connection.
The "Hijri Calendar" Interactive Learning Tree Wall
Time and seasons are made tangible through a vast, interactive wall that maps the Islamic (Hijri) calendar. Children can move tactile icons representing months like Ramadan or seasons marked by date harvests. This feature seamlessly integrates cultural literacy with concepts of time, sequence, and nature’s cycles, fostering both cognitive development and cultural identity.
